The EPIC project

The EPIC project

Peakhill Associates was retained by the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society in 2003 to assess the possibility of accessing funds for a feasibility study into the development of a new focus for the Society and the Lincolnshire Showground. PA assembled a funding package involving European Regional Development and a range of matched funding and led the recruitment of specialist input to develop a feasibility study and full funding proposal for what subsequently became the EPIC Project.

The EPIC Building is one of the largest low carbon, part earth sheltered buildings in Europe, incorporating a range of low carbon features such as glulam timber framing, rainwater harvesting, sedum roof, passive stack ventilation. Its renewable energy systems that included biomass   heating and helical wind turbines. Peakhill Associates led the delivery of the capital project on time and within budget in partnership with the Thornton Firkin construction Consultancy.
