The AD industry is increasingly looking to the transport sector and it is easy to see why. Biomethane vehicles address both the air quality and decarbonisation priorities of our new Government and use of biomethane as a vehicle fuel is growing in the bus, heavy goods and municipal vehicle markets. At the end of 2016 the Department for Transport consulted on reforms to the Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation (RTFO); these could improve the investment environment for biofuels and help install the long-term certainty required to further encourage the development of advanced fuels such as biomethane.
